Henna labs and classes

Henna Design Labs are single-topic-based intensives on a variety of subjects. Subjects include design based labs and business based labs.

These are available as part of BOTH our Public Henna Classes and our Private Henna Classes.

$100 (Additional Students $40)


Public Henna Labs
When we have public henna classes scheduled, we offer our Simply Henna 101 class along with two optional labs. The Henna 101 class is not required to take the labs. Pricing ranges from $30-40.

Private Henna Labs
If you are scheduling a private Budget Henna Class or Foundation henna class, any of these labs can be added for $100 ($40 additional students).

Labs must be purchased WITH a Budget or Foundation henna class. They cannot be purchased alone.

With at least 2 weeks notice, we can custom create a lab for you.

Henna Anatomy 1 Lab

The Gross Anatomy of henna! Learn the principles of henna design fundamentals to create designs that are professional quality.

These design principles relate to every style of henna, will enhance your understanding of bringing a full henna design to life and build a foundation for strong henna stylization. These are the principles that allow you to develop your own henna style as an individual artist.

Henna Anatomy Class Online

Henna Anatomy 2 Lab

This is a natural follow-up of the Anatomy 1 Lab. It contains guided layout practice where we re-create complete designs start to finish.

After learning the principles of henna anatomy, this class helps to cement the concepts giving you go-to designs that you are comfortable doing. This creates a strong foundation for finding your henna voice.

Henna Fillers Lab

Learn to utilize fillers in different ways, including how and when to use filler techniques.

Tips and tricks to create neat and clean looking fillers in both traditional and modern henna designs. This is a great workshop to take if you are interested in bridal style henna. Fillers feature heavily in bridal henna.

Negative Space Lab

This class focuses on how to use negative space within a henna design. This is arguably the most important part of henna anatomy and the most difficult to master.

You will learn to use negative space in creative ways and to consider the use of negative space in every henna tattoo you do. This lab focuses on expanding your henna vocabulary.

This is a great workshop to take if you are interested in bridal style henna.

Texture & Shading Lab

The class teaches various ways to create texture in henna, including different was to add shading to henna designs.

We physically practice techniques and explore unique ways to add depth and texture to a henna design.

Line Quality Lab

In this hands-on technique class, you will learn to lay down the perfect henna line. Learn how to drape henna and how to draw henna. We will drill, drill, drill and you will be prepared for your own at home henna practice.

Online Henna Layout Class

Design By Layout Lab

Master the skill of “Artists Choice.” Learn to create beautiful henna designs using a system of modifying different layouts. Think of this as a mix and match system to create different designs.

This is a fantastic way for a beginner to become confident with henna and is perfect for more experienced henna artists to add speed and diversity when doing large events and festivals.

Scheduling Private Henna Classes

To schedule a day and time for a private henna class, email or call. Have some sample dates and times that you prefer and we will try to mesh our schedule with yours.

Once a date has been agreed upon, payment is taken over the phone or through an online invoice. Payment is due immediately to save the date and begin prep work for the class.


Important Information About Payment And Cancellations

– Complete payment must be made at time of booking.
– Classes must be scheduled and paid at least 2 weeks before class date to allow for prep.
– Due to the amount of preparation and work that goes into creating a private class, there are no refunds for cancellations. Rescheduling may be available for another day within a 30-day window.  Rescheduling for dates further out may require an additional prep fee.
